Based on a decision from the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network General Assembly in 2000, the Network established a working group on Palestine on 2 December 2001

Decision to set-up a Working Group on Palestine
Based on a decision from the Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Network General Assembly in 2000, the Network established a working group on Palestine on 2 December 2001.

Hiring a Coordinator
In 2002, the Executive Committee of the Network decided to hire a coordinator for the thematic work focused on Palestine. It was furthermore decided that the Palestine coordinator should be locate at the EMHRN Secretariat in Copenhagen.

New Working Group Name
In order better to reflect the interests, the focus and the work of the working group, it was decided, in 2005, to change the name of working and from then on it has been called Working Group on Palestine/Israel and Palestinians to better reflect the aim, the focus and the work of the group.

In 2008 the coordinator was placed in Brussels in order to strengthen lobby efforts of the WG.
